Pre Budget Report - Now available

Chancellor Alistair Darling delivered his Pre Budget (Pre Election) Report on 9th December. Against a backdrop of the worst recession in 'more than half a century', with the UK's AAA credit rating under threat and with the cost of insuring against the default risk on UK Gilts at roughly the same level as that applying to Greek Government stock, it was always difficult to see how Mr Darling was going to be able to appeal to the electorate.
